@Valar81MorghulisJust out of interest, how long did it take you to unlock the main stuff you wanted?
lmao the speeders.
I remember the community asked for them to receive a dmg nerf, not fold the entire controls into something unplayable.
On the other hand, listening less to reddit bubbles and youtubers would've been sometimes helpful too.
They included a lot of good stuff as well, but better test phases pls.
I wonder how much the Celebration Edition was a real try to make good money out of the game as it was near at the end of many free content updates.
Not that the CE even had to offer much, only minor stuff I could unlock with ingame money over time anyways.
Anyways, all I wanted was continued support, the memories of BF2015 were still fresh.
It took me several months to unlock all of the units/characters. After all, I was once a complete and utter noob at this game.
The 74-Z Speeder on Endor is still very good, as is the T-47 Airspeeder on Hoth, while the V-4X-D on Crait is decent vs. troops and great vs. the AT-ST, TIE, & the ionized AT-M6. The BARC, & STAP (only real use is to damage the AT-TE) are quite bad, and the only real use of the LIUV is to shield team members who are either setting or defusing the explosives.
IF they had simply raised the battle points cost of these units to 1,000 it would have greatly helped to mitigate their impact. A 1,000 BP cost LIUV would have prevented an officer from the quick start battle command, re-spawning, & owning in the 1st phase. Still, both sides had this ability with the LIUV, and the Resistance also had the added bonus of a 1st phase A-Wing and X-Wing. Both of which can/will decimate an LIUV.
Sure, you can still run over units with the LIUV, but it seldom registers for damage or elimination, and the primary weapons are practically useless. So yep, one of the funnest units in the game was ruined with the speeder nerf, in addition to the LIUV being blocked from going up the back ramp on Phase II to access the Main Gate area.
Yeah, the Celebration Edition was a joke of a last ditch effort to garner more funds and players. However, the fact that it wasn't usable offline made a lot of buyers unhappy.
