Unable to launch BF2

BF2 used to launch perfectly fine and I was able to run it, but recently whenever I try launching it I get an error saying unable to connect. The other games I have on the EA launcher run perfectly fine including online. I attached the popup on the post. Any help??

    over what period of time? you could be experiencing a temporary backend issue.
