Vice-Chat remains active on "speech activated" permanently

Hi, reporting a problem with Origin voice chat and Star Wars Battelfront II.

I try to use an external voice chat program (Discord) instead of the one integrated into Origin, but I can't shut off the Origin one.

I set it to "Push-to-talk" and specified a key, it remain active as "voice activated" though, even though the option clearly shows that the setting is "push-to-talk". Also changing the microphone or speaker level (e.g. to zero) doesn't do anything, even though it always says "option saved" after adjusting the sliders. So even using the internal voice chat doesn't work, as it remains too silent (when trying to set it to a higher volume). It doesn't matter if we try to adjust the setting in the Origin client or via the Origin overlay (SHIFT+F1).

Any advise?

It's not just me, two friends have the same issue. All three of us just bought the game.

P.S.: A second issue is, that when Discord is running, the mouse disappears in SW:BF2. The sound issue described above occurres whether discord is running or not though.
