Video Internal Scheduler Error BSOD

I am running this game on my gaming laptop Dell Inspiron 7567 (i7-7700HQ, GTX1050TI), while connecting to an external monitor with HDMI.

Whenever I tried to boot up SWBF2, the laptop will go into BSOD, and I have to reboot it again. I would say BSOD happens about 7 out of 10 times when I boot up SWBF2.

Things I have tried to troubleshoot this issue:

1. Reinstall SWBF2, Verify the game file

2. Make sure my GPU drivers are fully updated, and downgrade to an older version

3. Fresh install Windows 10

4. Use a different monitor with different HDMI cable. 

5. Ran stresstest for the GPU, no error.

6. Ran memtest, chkdsk, and sfc scannow

It seems that this BSOD only happens when I tried to play Battlefront 2 WHILE connecting to the external monitor. It didnt happen once when I boot up the game natively without connecting to the external monitor. I should also clarified that this BSOD only happens in this game so far. I have played several other games (Overwatch, Black Ops 4, CSGO), none of them have this issue.

I have consulted with Dell cares on reddit, they ran me through several test but still cannot figure out the issue. As my laptop has already ran out of warranty, I cannot just simply replace it.

    Hi everyone, it's been a while since I last posted this. It appears I might have a solution for this.

    Download an old Nvidia graphics driver, the link I provided is August 2018 driver, which is when I started getting this issue

    My laptop is Dell 7567, i7, GTX1050ti. I have been using this driver for 3 days now, no BSOD so far, no matter how much I alt tab the game. I did not notice any significant or noticeable performance issue so far.

    Please give this a try.

    @ganbaa_elmer is anything over clocked in your system and what kind of power supply do you have?

    I too am having this same issue. It's only when connected to an external monitor. I have tried all the suggested troubleshooting posted here to no avail. My setup runs all other games at ultra settings just fine (even Fallen Order), so it's just Battlefront 2 with this issue. The weird thing is that this problem only started on my second day of playing. The first day everything worked just fine. Has anyone had any luck with solutions on this? Currently locked down here in Ca and was looking forward to finally getting into this game.

    Dear fellow gamers (@Xcthol @pgule @BeChiGu @melonzillo @nitevis34 @ganbaa_elmer @psn_blung2502) and staff (@EA_Ataashi @EA_Atic).  

    I understand that this reply is months after @mac167_p initially asked, however i have found a workaround to this problem (some of you may have already found a workaround!).

    Please be warned, I am NOT an expert on such things; so what I am about to share, please do it at your own risk!!

    Here are my specs for starters:

    [PC]Dell G5 5587 / i7-8750h / GTX1060 max-q

    [External Monitor] ACER KG271Ebmidpx (connected via HDMI)

    Everything was up-to-date, tried most of the suggested "fixes" in this thread, but the problem occurred only when playing THIS game AND plugged into an external monitor.

    Every other memory-demanding games in the galaxy works fines, so I came to a conclusion (like many others) that its definitely SWBF2 that's causing the disturbance in the force.

    So what did i do?

    1. Deleted the "STAR WARS Battlefront II" folder under "PC > Document".

    2. Closed all other apps just in case it BSOD again.

    3. Ran SWBF2, and now its playable.

    (Startup is realllllyyyy slow at first, but gameplay will be fine. Also, the aforementioned folder will be recreated upon launch.)

    Why did I do this?

    A clean re-install of this game doesn't delete the files in the aforementioned folder, so I tried to see what'll happen.

    What's the exact cause of the BSOD?

    No idea. And I don't plan on evaluating (that's a job for the devs). But my theory is that if you initially played the game on the native laptop screen, then perhaps whatever-configurations in those now-deleted files contained info that were incompatible with the external monitor. Again, this is just a guess.

    Now go save the galaxy or slay those younglings.

    P.S. If you decide to do this, let me know if it works so that others too can decide whether they want to do this or not.
