Was the BF2 Roadmap another scam?

I know that DICE guys had a lot of pressure on them regarding Clone Wars content and a clear roadmap, so we got something at E3, but half of August has already passed, and we heard nothing about the tiniest part of the CW updates, the first wave of clone appearances - which are supposed to arrive this month.

It was worrying enough that we've only seen a blurry render of Grievous out of all the four announced characters, and for a roadmap, setting the release dates to be "Fall" and "Winter" is quite vague.

The game has a lot of problems, and I don't think that removing Palpatine for like a month helped the situation.

Then the 2x XP could not be implemented for some reason, even a scheduled maintenance was postponed... It would be nice if we actually got news about this game, even if bad news. You guys are keeping us in the dark again, same as pre-E3.

I know that DICE/EA gets a lot of extreme hate and toxicity regarding this game, but those of us who still play have to be the most patient people on Earth by now, lol. We understand that the situation is not the best on the dev's part - but then again, that's just guesswork again, since we don't hear any actual updates on it.

    Well said!

    Agree with everything, particularly...

     "those of us who still play have to be the most patient people on Earth by now"

  • I think they will deliver, so far fall and winter are still ahead and the news are being delivered, patching some of the major problems. I think from a selling point of view, the most likely time they will deliver is November and December. Maybe like an anniversary... or Annie-versary.

    @Rogue_Manda_YT

    All of us wanted to think the same with every little update they hinted at. We got let down almost every time. The problem is that new content is badly needed at this point, but at the same time, the core of the game had (and still has) to be reworked: we've got the new progression system and a better overall look without the holo appearances, and an actually useful squad system is supposedly on the way.

    But these are things that should have been in the game this way in the first place. It is quite problematic to have a handful of people (again, guesswork, but that's the only reasonable explanation) rework the game all the while making new content.

    I know that they are playing it safe with these huge time intervals as release dates, but nothing else got better after E3. We were promised bug fixes - and yet, ever since launch, 90% of the reveal functions are glitched, and since the first Han Solo patch in May, most of the time you can't leave a match without quitting and restarting the whole game. Issues with matchmaking are also very common, which is unfortunate for a multiplayer title, to say the least.

    Then we lost a hero due to a botched update, and it took a lot of time to get him back - the time invested in that must have also impacted every other content negatively.

    Also, game is $9.00 on XLive Gold right now, that is not exactly a good sign, either. That's many times the harbinger of EA Access, which is the quasi-graveyard of EA games.

    I would like to point out one important thing, that the people working on fixing bug and new content might be two different group of people. I do not know for sure, but for example PUBG has two diffetent groups of people working on the game, one group fixing the game, the other adding new content.

    This means that they might be working on the new content, testing it, working out the bugs of the new content, and just making sure that, when it goes live, it will be top notch. The other group, and the updates that we are seeing, is working on the current game issues and trying to make the game as a whole more consistent and reliable. Maybe I am wrong in this case, but this is how some of the other game developing teams work.

    And this is exactly the problem - all we can say about this game is "might be", "maybe", "could be"... We know nothing.
