Weird bug (PC) gun wont fire but only with controller on first level of campaign
Weird bug, played the game for the first time today, solo campaign, got to the second gun rack just after deleting the plans (spoiler?) picked up the rifle and was suddenly unable to fire, restarted from the checkpoint, reinstalled the game, headbutted my keyboard etc.The gun did fire when I used my keyboard but refused to fire at all with the controller. Wondering if anyone knows of this bug, if it goes further into the game etc. I can just complete the first level of the campaign with mouse and keyboard but I don't want to do the entire campaign like that.Getting the assumed FAQs out the way, the pistol you recieve before the rifle worked fine, immediately before taking the rifle I tested the trigger again and the pistol fired, you cannot progress in the level without picking up the rifle, I use an xbox controller, it has no issues on any other game or on this one other than in this scenario (to my knowledge), my pc can definitely handle the game.
Before anyone flames, yes I like using a gamepad with pc, it's nice, you don't need to sit up at a desk with it and my second monitor is a big TV so it's nice to just lay back and chill.
Edit: gone further into the game now and it's getting weird, RB (off-hand) weapons respond to RT press but the main weapon doesn't, I've changed the controller button map, tried every weapon available to me and importantly, when testing with the keyboard they have all worked, it's as if the game is programmed to ignore RT clicks for main weapons only, obviously this is where the code is bugged.
Edit^2: Tested online, controller would only fire whilst running forward which if I'm thinking about how the game would be programmed I'm assuming it acts differently due to the run reducing accuracy assuming the running gun is programmed as an individual item rather than an after calculation on the primary weapons accuracy, with all above context applied.
From what I recall, in the brief time I tried using a controller, the game was getting confused as to whether I was playing with mouse/keyboard or controller. So, if you're hellbent on using a controller on PC, you might try unplugging the mouse and/or keyboard.
In general, my recommendation is what you might expect - stick with mouse/keyboard if you're playing on PC.
