I personally think that the community needs to become more accepting of blaster heroes in hero modes because I've seen a blaster main on youtube called Sharpshooter4775 saying lots of people are t-bagging him even though he's never toxic.I've also been in games where a blaster hero gets a kill on someone, and whenever that person gets a chance to kill them, gues what? They emote.I feel like the community is a bit toxic and needs to become more accepting of blaster heroes. They are heroes. They can be played in hero modes. If you get killed by a blaster hero, so what? They're just chilling and having fun and playing a game. It is just a game in the end. If you emote on a blaster hero who killed you, that shows you're toxic, and that you're mad cuz you died to "a character who shouldn't be played."I am just not sure why people hate blaster heroes being played. And the thing is, people didn't ask for a dueling mode with sabers only, yet they complain about blaster heroes in Hero Showdown. Ironic, isn't it?I'm not saying this is everyone, I'm perfectly fine if I get killed by a Leia as Vader. And I know some other people are fine as well. It's just the majority seem to hate it as said on a poll made by meisterhobbit 57.Can someone give me some context as to why blaster heroes are so hated by people?

@AnakinVader34What poll are you refering to?I guess people are pissed because LS blasters can use all distances to their advantage, while the DS ones fall short.So darkside always needs to rely on some Vader and Kylo as some semi-optimal counter against them because the DS blasters who're really able to put up a fight against blaster pros are Boba and maybe Iden, but only if these players are like really good.So as soon as some tryhard stack on LS uses blasters, DS is shrinking to a one-trick pony with only one predictable way to counter them.

@VetteC5RXThe problem is that in greater modes, blaster heroes usually get punished even more by this stupid anti-hero minimap mechanic.Like every shot has to be perfect or else you'll be dead very soon because you can't block/dodge far/force jump/use tactical abilities like saber users when being cornered.Especially aerial troopers will gladly accept the minimap's invitation to attack you. Oh, and once you're caught by a tank/starfighter in the open for a few seconds you're dead. Again, no force jumps.In HvH however, the balance is so much in favour of the blaster heroes (if they know what they're doing) because they have no ranged opponents except the enemy blaster heroes and some few abilities of lightsaber heroes.Also saber users (+infiltrator melee variants) are the only kind of playable class against whom it even makes sense to use rolls and where rolls are also highly efficient at the same time.

Because for the millionth time this game has zero balance in HvV or the other modes

The only blaster players I don’t like are toxic people (which are also sabers.), and people that interrupt a 1v1 in hero showdown.

@VetteC5RXIt’s just lazy and bad imo. While trying to make a casual game for noobs they instead ended up making a game that caters to rolling ball parties/premades. Most shooter MP games don’t reward stupidity and bad gameplay like this one does. Still the big mistake is it rewards the premades,(bowling ball style), and throws the poor noobs or solos under the bus.An example is when so many toned people group up around Finn it in general to overpower, in many other games you would risk a team wipe.

You're obviously speaking of HvV on PC, because on consoles PS4/PS5 and Xbox, DS sabers rule the world, even against a highly skilled LS shooter team. When DS Sabers meet a highly-skilled shooter team, they right away bring Boba and then tides turn over.

Because all they do is 3rd party. It sucks but that’s the stereotype for all blaster mains. All they do is spam their blaster and throw grenades and have zero skill. I was in a perfect maul vs kenobi duel and it was going good, the kenobi was being fair and we had a nice duel until Jan solo comes in and kills me because they just want attention. It’s the sad truth but all they do is 3rd party

@TRlALON I said that because I don’t think everyone knows about a lot of the mechanic specifics of this game; especially newer players. TROS saw a large new player base. Many of them admittedly used YT videos to learn gameplay. Many of those videos did show players how to play by leaning on broken mechanics (without saying it’s broken mechanics).

many of those players I’ve seen tend to lean more on characters like Hann or Leia as opposed to Chewie because those blaster users attributes are more easily utilized.

long term players who know & understand the messed up mechanics can (and do) use a Chewie in full OP because they’re more familiar with why and how; newer players have an easier time with Hann & Leia due to structure so that’s more often what we see. Sure, players who use Chewie “use him” but from a pure numbers standpoint there’s clear advantages he has which aren’t readily countered. Chewie is OP he just isn’t as easy to exploit as others are.

Strats like jumping to approach Chewie to try and avoid his bow caster shots works on some players but on others not so much. I welcome someone to do that when I’m Chewie because it opens them up to big damage.

@VetteC5RXYeah except that you literally said that the Chewie people I met played him poorly - besides not taking advantage of his attributes etc. I mean what player in a real tryhard mode doesn't try to use all advantages of his respectable character either?
Just thinking about the Grievous players who use his big hitbox size for those stupid jump exploits to get around your block.
So see how that came off for me, like that those players were idiots or noobs for simply not playing Chewie as it'd be possible to do.
@AnakinVader34That spread isn't really great over distances and the bowcaster rpm without middle ability is low. Also that visual effect and hitbox size, you stick out like a lighthouse and so everyone will target you. I mean especially in greater modes where most players of your team have normal human size.
As I mentioned before, people with a good aim don't need any crutches like spread anyways and so they use Han Solo for the high rpm, high gun dmg, high ability dmg, effectivity on all distances and high mobility due to that starcard.
