It doesn't matter how you handle your weapon. You can have a minigun with no overheat if you wish, once you start spinning it to a swarm, you can either get a secondary fire of clone commando perfectly aimbotted at you or a battledroid just one shots you 🙂
Choke points doesn't apply to every map either. Not even with Leia you can spam enough greandes to clear out an entire hallway, but the hallways aren't the point. There are multiple entries they can storm through that you can't hold and then just swarm you from back which you are pretty much dead.
The biggest problem of the coop is your AI team. I'm pretty good at clearing waves and open a path to my team, but it's not being enough. Because you are playing against 20 heavily boosted enemies each time while 5 of your AI team die to 1 regular troop. They are dumb enough to shoot walls but dumber to shoot enemy 1 meter front.
I'm not saying we should have an AI team which every regular troop playing like hero, but the ally AI team needs a significant amount of boost and should stop deploying their shield right in front of you to block your shoot.
It's nearly impossible to kill saber heroes and Bossk on 1 on 1. and it's not just they have higher defense and damage stats compared to you. It's also they are absolutely perfect at blocking more than 90% of your abilities. Whenever I press Q, E or F, they are instantly doing a blocking which is just wasting my long cooldown ability. Infiltrators and Enforcers doing the same thing with dodging roll move. They are far better than any human player I have ever seen in that regard. Even the BB8 is powerful enough to take 700-800 health from me on close combat.
Playing against 5 rocket troopers in Blast surely can be annoying and I understand you. but this doesn't make coop not worth to complain.
I'm sure no EA staff will ever read these nor to care or bother to do a balance on coop or anything. "THAT'S THE EA". They don't really care their playerbase or their thoughts since it's not really a game company but purely money focused and driven company. They don't make games to entertain people, they make it to earn money. Same as how Elon Musk does with Starlink.
Anyways, I came here to drop my thoughts as well but saw this topic and the creator of the topic pretty much adressed everyhing I wished to express.
@MissSnowiieThere's definitely not a "use this weapon and you'll win co-op every time" guarantee. Use the weapons and classes you are best at. For me that's starting with the heavy class. I clear out a point while moving in on it, and immediately secure the point. I don't want to even give the AI the chance to swarm and lock down the point.
That said, if my teammates aren't with me? Then I'll get overrun in the next AI wave lol!!! You need teammates willing to secure the points with you no matter what guns you use or what part of the map you are on.
I do agree the friendly AI could be better. I can't count on them to do much more than serve as a distraction so that enemy AI isn't just focused on me.
Speaking of heroes, I will actively avoid 1v1 on them because you are 100% right. They are too good at blocks and such. I either flank them or try to lure them into taking fire from the flanks.
I still find Co-op honestly the best way to play online. It's got variety. I can actually get a hero and have fun. If I lose...on to the next map. And the matches usually don't take long...except for Endor Overtime lol Supremacy matches can drag on forever. I had one last night go for over an hour lol!!!
