Why wasn't this mentioned EA?

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2017/11/13/wheres-our-star-wars-battlefront-ii-review.aspx

According to the reveiw it seems there is no change to the grind of the game.

You lowered the prices but also made it so we get less credits. So that basically doesn't change anything when when it comes to time.

Why were these changes not mentioned also in the lasted statement? Only changes mentioned were hero cost.

***Spoiler warning in the article about the campaign even though it is extremely typical and unoriginal***

You get fewer credits for finishing the single player campaign. The reward is equal to the cost of unlocking the campaign character as a hero in multiplayer, so when the prices went down, so did the reward. All other rewards should still be the same.

I don't see how lowering the cost for the heroes and then lowering the reward changes anything it will still take about the same amount of time if you are making less credits. In the article it states there are much more changes to credit rewards not just the campaign. They also made it harder to earn credits in arcade mode.

Hi, as I understand it there was only one single reward changed, the reward you get for completing the campaign. As mentioned this is intended to be used to unlock Iden, but is given as a credit reward in case someone has unlocked her already, or just wants to use the credits for different things. Overall Hero costs are significantly reduced, but the "free" Iden from the campaign completion is unchanged.

Also the article doesn't say any other changes were made. The quote from the article is: "What else is different? I need to find out."

Anyway, I don't want to dissuade discussion/constructive criticism, but I wanted to make sure folks had the right info.

    https://www.ea.com/games/starwars/battlefront/battlefront-2/news/pre-launch-update

Link is too their official page.

Micro-transactions are still around but currently offline/unavailable for the time being this is only temporary. No specifics yet as to what exactly is going to change and when. Hopefully its as it has been discussed on this thread to mainly be cosmetic content that will be added in the future.

It appears loot boxes still seem to be around but maybe that will change?

The only certain thing right now is that there is no more paying for content through crystals.

Thats good for now. I feel sorry for the devs. They are obviously very tallented, must have worked hard and made a beautiful looking game. They would have been so excited awaiting the feed back of joy at peoples first plays of their game, but now thats is overshadowed by bad feeling due to the greed of the corporate big wigs.

Proving the point of how loot crates are an attempt to give the player less than they would get if they just had normal 'get what you ask and pay for' purchaaes and try to rip them off instead:

I would be comfortable with normal non gambling micro transactions if they are balanced properly. We must ensure EA no longer use gambling with loot grates in the game when they bring back micro transactions

I ended up getting the game to see it for myself (starting to regret it). The whole progression system sucks and actually ruins the game even without MT. The game feels like it was designed to try and get you to spend on MT rather then it being fun. It really is that bad.

If you didn't buy this game your really not missing out on much either. I highly recommend people wait until they fix the progression system. Whole game feels like a chore to play.

By the way. daily crates only give you 125 credits and 5 crafting parts lmfaoooo They also only give you 30 credits if you came in first place on your team. What a incentive to win!
