With EA App, BattleFront II shows MSVCR120.dll was not found

I used to play BattleFront II with Origin, but EA forced to uninstall it and install the EA App, from that moment I could not play BattleFront II again. When I try to launch the game appears the following message "The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCR120.dll was not found". And I have to click it 4 times to Ok button... Then nothing happens

I tried the following:

#1 - Downloading the dll file from Microsoft installing the vcredist_x64.exe file

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/msvcr120dll-missing/ef3bca56-3155-4383-ac99-d2a6ea262831

Result: Same error

#2 - I followed those steps too with the MSVCR120.dll file

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqxebQEFU64

Result: But nothing helps yet....

#3 - I ran DxDiag command

Result: Everything is ok with my system

I only know this game crashed when I tried to play it from the EA App, because I played it well with the Origin App.....

I really appreciate any help to play Battle Front 2 again.

Thank you in advance for your valuable and prompted response

  • I just made this:

    - I uninstalled all the version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable from my Apps.

    - I Installed:
     Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x64) - 12.0.30501
     Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x86) - 12.0.30501

    - Restarted my PC

    - Doble click on Battlefront II shortcut from my desktop

    - IT WORKED!!!! (FINALLY!!!)

    P.S.: I'm pretty sure EA also activated something when I gave to you the info of my receipt when I bought it. Thank you

  • getting the DLL in the correct folder is critical to fixes like that.

    However, you really shouldn't have to download a separate DLL.

    I suggest you make sure Origin is uninstalled, then uninstall EA app and the game. Then reinstall EA app and the game. Kind of blows, but it's what I've heard as being most successful.

    I’m having the same issue. What exactly did you select in order to reinstall the new 2013 files? Where do I go to uninstall the original Windows Visual C++ files?
