Hi I have also had the same problem but have found a solution. Happy to share as my son was upset beyond words and can imagine the same from any other. If you create a compleetly new account on the xbox web page and make the new account age above 18 years old that is the 1st part. 2nd Then simply remove the account that you are unable to play online. 3rd add new account that you made in step 1 to your xbox and you should be able to play online. well it worked for me hope it does for you.

    Happy to answer any questions with this matter. although not sure how the notifications work so i apologize if it takes a while to respond. PS its Christmas day today so if this worked for you MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

      Is there a fix for the unable-to_connect 524?   We change the parental control on the Microsoft account but that did not work,

    XavierMarshall - that's fine, but what about your accumulation of achievements on your Xbox live profile? This solution may allow you to play, but it's not a real solution. EA needs to say something - anything!!

      first and foremost: Merry Christmas!

      To shed some light on this: The three of you who provided Xbox Gamertags all have them linked to an underage EA account, so there seems to be a pattern. It can occur that some online content is not available to underage EA accounts.

      You can find more information about online access for underage accounts in this help EA article.

      Also feel free to post your Xbox Gamertag (or PSN-IDs, if applicable) so we can check if it's related to the EA account being underage. Which sounds reasonable, taking into account you tried altering the settings on the Xbox account.

        I adjusted all the parental controls on the Xbox side and still could not connect, so I aged up my son's Xbox account to 18 and still can't connect. It looks like adjusting parental controls on the Xbox side doesn't change anything on the EA side. My son's Xbox Gamertag is AwesomeKing421. Please help!

    Yeah but then my son has 2 logins one to play. This game and one with all his other saved games and rewards
