I can’t tell if you are being sarcastic or not. There is nothing stopping other people from literally using the officer too. If your a good sniper, do that. The battlefront community shouldn’t be so toxic when it comes to using heroes. Playing the objective, you know that thing that’s there... is also a huge bonus. It does take work to get a hero, and Aerials are one of the most hero wrecking units ever.
@Ibmilo1He's probably talking about Galactic Assault mode. In Supremacy it's comparably easy to get objective points. Games don't last very long in GA and you'll find a lot of your team mates clustered together, hence why people in this mode are cheesing points as officer. In supremacy this isn't that effective or needed at all, I simply play as specialist and use the infiltration gadget to rapidly advance to the next objective plus bounty hunter star card in the early game if I want to get to the 4K fast.

Odd, because in most rounds of GA there’s a cluster at the beginning (cus of spawn) and then everyone splits out, usually staying in groups of 2, maybe 3. This is generally what happens the whole round. I don’t really see anyone cluster unless it’s an objective (like MTT) or they are trying to gun down a hero. These are situations where officers buffing teammates is beneficial to the game. I don’t see too many officers on the battlefield. (1-3 that use battle command at beginning) Maybe he has a different experience than me. A big reason I get a lot of points as officer is because I’m a seasoned player, I play the objective more aggressive than most, and that the officers gun before the DL-18 is super good, especially with the rapid fire attachment. I earned that gun and I get lots of kills, which translate into battle points In that case, I’d love for him to elaborate!
