I did not change my date/time or connect to a VPN. All I did was update video drivers, and uninstall/reinstall origin after having a different issue. It did force me to do two or three 2FA checks along the way.
I don't understand why this "too many computers" thing is even in place. I have 2FA enabled. And they should be able to see that I only ever downloaded and installed the game one time. The claim that there is no manual override on their side is absurd. Of course there is. They just don't want to do it.
Hmmm, only thing I can think of is your ISP giving you a new IP after each restart(which would be kind of ridiculous since that's a super short lease) or maybe something with your IPv6, either way I agree it is ridiculous. I have 2FA as well, it normally gives me a check when it sees me on a different IP address.
Yeah, there definitely is an easy fix on their side, but it would probably include exchanging personal information like our IPv4 address to reset the number of 'PC IDs' we're allotted.
EA support said there's literally nothing they can do, other than wait for the "servers to refresh" to clear it. He said the servers refresh every 24 hours, and you don't know what time or anything, so the 24 hour lock period is really a maximum of 24 hours; could be less. He also said that trying to launch the game before the 24 hours is up does NOT reset the 24 hour 'clock', and that you can keep trying until it unlocks (provided you're on the same PC this whole time).
Great, but I'm not sure I trust that. I'd hate to have him be wrong, try to launch the game tonight, and end up being locked out an additional 24 hours from that point. Based on the first time I was found to be locked out of the game, the 24 hours should expire in about 8 hours (9 hours if it counts from the last attempt to launch the game). Would be livid if I inadvertantly added additional time onto that...
Apparently I can't tell time, I meant 9 hours and 10 hours respectively since I first got locked out, and last tried to launch the game.
For my trouble he offered me a 15% origin discount code. And it expires in a few weeks. I mean, great... but wasn't planning on buying anything else..
