A-Wing being unbalanced?
Am I the only one who struggles up against A-Wings? I understand it's a ship that's supposed to require skill to operate, but at the moment you can put all pips into weapons and shields and have abs...
The A-Wing is the strongest ship in the game by a wide margin, at least in dogfights. OP? I doubt it, but definitely out of balance by a very significant margin.
Why do I say this? When was the last dogfight you played where the Republic had less than 3 A-Wings? For that matter, less than 4 or 5? I know they are fun to fly, and not indestructible, but even people who prefer other ships fly A-Wings because they are just better. On the Imperial side you see a decent variety of ships, despite the interceptor having a similar play style which should make it just as much "more fun" than the other Imperial ships.
When you get on the forums in any game, the people doing well with whatever their preferred class/ship whatever are convinced their success is due to pure skill, that it couldn't possibly be due to some sort of advantage they have. But numbers tell.
I get that the game isn't balanced around dogfights. Nonetheless, the A-Wing seems to reign supreme. "We would still wreck in an X-Wing". Ok... Then why don't more of you do that? I accept A-Wings may be more fun, but at an 8-1 or 10-1 ratio? Seems unlikely.
