Apparently there was an issue with the installation of the game, and I had to clear the Origin cache to be able to repair the game. Now it's working, but I would definitely have appreciated a heads-up in the game that says that not everything that's needed for the game to work is installed. The way I found out about it was when I tried starting a private server and it said that none of the content was installed, which is something that should be stated in the menus or as a message when you start the game.

glad to heat that issue was resolved although you had to clear the cache. For future reference you can check in-game if you go into multiplayer. You should be able to click the individual DLC playlists on the bottom of the menu screen. If you can choose them, everything is downloaded and installed.
As for the stats reset issue, this apparently was a temporary sync issue - there were no new reports coming, only players who confirmed it was resolved for them.
