Already fed up with this game

This game is going to become a no-lifer slaughtering field and the player base will drop drastically in the coming months. Why, I've been playing on PC since release and I can't hit anything. I've tried using my Saitek x45, Thurstmaster T-Flight Hotas X, Xbox controller and mouse...

Already those hardcore no lifers are already after two days scoring high on the leader board. Give it a month and its over. The casual players and new players will quit in frustration. I saw it happen with MordHau. Its not fun dying over an over.

Why is it so hard to get a joystick set up!? As soon as I think I have it figured out in training I go into a game and die over and over. I have the high score of most deaths.

Why does the Rebellion players almost instantly kill me and their aim reticle isnt even on me? Why am I always Empire..

Ya, beginning to hate this game. EA is going to have to implement a match making based on skill ASAP or its dead in the water

  • @RicketySprockets I feel you. Those no lifer makes a lot of remarks, such as "get gud" is really toxic! It's a game.... I hate dieing over and over too.

  • @RicketySprockets i feel for you and truly share part of your sentiment.

Problem is threefold. One of hardware issue, one is autotargetting, and the final is actually skill - both personal and teamwork.

    1. Hardware - I've got pissed off at the fact i couldn't aim or get a bead on folks and nearly smached my fist in the monitor when i saw kill cam footage of folks lining me up with ease even while im turning and burning. Finally did some research. Most all the HOTAS sticks are crippled with a deadzone that makes minute inputs hard and require numerous corrections which means your target reticle goes zigzagging around and your lucky to land one out of 10 laser shots.

    2. Many kill cams i see mostly folks in support ships blowing me out of the sky and their laser shots seems to track up to 30 degrees off their gun sights to blast me. I don't know if its a special loadout or secret gun i dont know about, but it sucks getting killed by people who don't even try to aim and their lasers still find you.

    3. The nolifers you speak of, well, they kinda earn their cred by actually working as a team and using their skills to win. No sense harping about a team that plays objectives or uses their ships properly and communicate with each other. Ive yet to even come close to mastering the comms wheel, designating targets or requesting help when i cant shake a baddie. These are my faults, not the games or opponents. This is were 'get gud', toxic as it sounds.. is just a stupid way of saying 'keep practicing, keep playing'.

I do agree some form of ranked matchmaking will be required so noobs fight noobs and aces fight aces and so forth. But it's not even been a week so i think the system will need more time before it gets better at matchmaking.

    1. For a game so heavily promoted to be played with HOTAS, they really dropped the ball here. There's dead zone and unable to bind issues, and there's limiting combined pitch and roll if you swap yaw and roll assignments. It's a disgraceful mess.

    2. It's a loadout.

    3. Probably fixable with matchmaking algorithms.

  • Well i am using a logítec 3d pro ánd i always do a lot of kills, and normaly i am not good in pvp. No problems hitting targets, but i had to take time configuring my hotas.

I've only played single player and I'm fed up with it.  I can draw a bead on an ISD, but I still have trouble keeping my shots on a raider.  The controls in this game are horrible.  I'm almost through the single player campaign and it's just been a complete pain.  I'd absolutely refund at this point, but I've spent too much time trying to get the "hang" of Squadrons incredibly poor M&KB flight control that I no longer can.
