Am stuck, can't progress because pull/push doesn't work

Summarize your bug Pulling the item then trying to push it turned me around, making the action fail.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Pc, mouse, any keybind. In temple of miktroll. Trying to pull then push the fire.
What happens when the bug occurs? Push turns me around, so it doesn't work.
What do you expect to see? Pull something then push in the direction I need to.
Stuck in the tomb of Miktrull.... I know what I have to do but I'm literally bugged and stuck as a result.
I need to burn the wood off the cable so the glass thing shatters, howver when I try to force push something that I'm holding from the pull, it 180's the character to the place that I pulled it from. I've tried to break this bug for hours... But it happens over and over, my character turns around and pushes behind him. I can't do the simple action of pushing the fire capsule i pulled, it turns me around.
I've tried to comprimise and slow it mid air then force push, as that doesn't turn me around... But the slow is never fast enough and it needs to be at max height to reach the wood to burn. I see how it works fluidly onlyine for other people on guides.
I restarted the game, and I even changed keybinds/reset keybinds so see if it was a specific bug, All to no avail... I can't progress in the game until this works :/
