The star field is the most egregious example but I also noticed the ship and character models are lower resolution than the desktop mode.
I have a Core i9 9900K and an RTX 2080Ti. The game looks amazing in desktop mode but is both choppy and blurry in VR.
Very disappointing given that Half-Life: Alyx looks super sharp and Squadrons in desktop mode looks super sharp. Alyx is VR only so it's clearly possible to have the desktop mode quality visuals in VR.
I really hope higher detailed models, higher resolution textures (including for the star field) and a fix for the choppy motion come soon!

I experience the same problem of low resolution skybox in VR it's very distracting and ugly. This was immediately shocking as soon as I started playing in VR and it really ruins the VR experience for me. It's even disorienting in VR. All the furthest background elements are impacted in all flights in VR: stars, clouds, planets, etc... Whereas the pancake version of the skybox looks stunning on screen, the art really conveys emotion and helps gameplay with orientation. Please fix this ASAP, it seems super easy to fix.
I tried all combinations of many settings, both in SteamVR and directly in game, of super sampling, antialiasing and sharpening but nothing solves it.
Installed the EA Origin store version, not the Epic store, not the Steam store.

The starfield / skybox scale / blurriness is just gross, and absolutely destroys immersion in VR.
Cockpits & capital ships look incredibly on the Index, but out in the black, I feel like I'm playing "X vs T" on Windows 95 again... but not in a good way.
