Arachnophobe struggling to play game after arriving at Kashyyk

Hello Answers HQ!I've written a post on reddit explaining my issue, and I will elaborate on it here as a request for a new feature.https://www.reddit.com/r/FallenOrder/comments/dzljo5/arachnophobe_struggling_to_play_game_after/I'm a 19 yo adult male - I should be able to overcome such issues, but I can't.I really enjoy this game, it's been one of my favourite Star-Wars experiences in a long time - but my arachnophobia inhibits my ability to carry on playing the game.Personally, I've been in and out of therapy with this issue, and in real life I can pick up small spiders with napkins if they're a nuisance. But the spiders on Kashyyk; They just get to me - I fainted during the first encounter, and called my dad into my room, to see if it would help if he oversaw me during the encounter.My only solution was to get a kind redditor to take control via PS4's 'Shareplay' feature, where he completed most of Kashyyk for me.Other kind redditors told me that it isn't yet over with the arachnids, and I fear that the experience will have an effect on my further playtime any time I go near that planet.When I played Skyrim I was able to mod the game to replace all arachnid models with phobia-friendly sprites, so I could enjoy the experience somewhat.I would love a similar feature, a simple setting where you could dumb down the models or make them appear less intimidating - It's hard to explain what I experience when these spiders are near me - they don't even have to be on screen. Their mere presence is enough for me to not only be unable to play the game, but I can't even hold the controller when I tried to face my fears.I hoped this problem would be behind me as I grew into adulthood, and I feel ever ashamed of it.My friends and family make fun of me for it, and to be honest I get them - but there's just something in my brain that triggers whenever I'm having such encounters.Feet and hands tingle, so do my teeth- my vision darkens, and I don't know if there are other players like me, but I hope that you could look past that as I really, really do want to enjoy this experience.Your time means a lot to me, and if my thread falls upon deaf ears, I wouldn't blame anybody.I know it's far fetched, but contacting you like this is a last resort from a player, who wouldn't want to be left out.Thank you so much for your time, and I hope to hear from some of you!Have a great evening!

You can't help what you feel, you can only control how you act.&nbsp; So, other than getting used to seeing and being around them, you can't really do anything about it.&nbsp;

As for the game...your only hope would be if you were on PC and someone made a mod for the game to remove spiders and spider like creatures, because honestly, with your fear, the rest of the game will likely be torture.&nbsp; Wookie planet is the worst, but there are spider or spider like creatures on just about all planets.&nbsp;

Sorry, you are hating this, and have this issue, and I wish you the best in dealing with it, but I don't think you will be able to finish the game yourself, until you can deal with 8 legs better.

I personally hate spiders crawling on me when I don't expect it, and don't really like it when I do expect it, but I can deal....I also respect the place they have in the environment, killing all the OTHER creepy crawlies and flyers that I hate more...

i know how you feel about spiders, i have a phobia and i know the exact situation when i was 4 that caused it for me even, but dealing with them extends only so far as using the vaccum cleaner on them to remove them, because the cleaner has a nice long tube extension so im not close. i even threw away a vacuum cleaner after hoovering up a spider that was so big that i HEARD it coming and turned to look. that cleaner had a slide on the bag you had to slide out to open the bag to empty, and i just couldnt touch the bag, so in the trash went the cleaner. i have one i press a button now and its a lot better for avoiding even dead spiders.

but i dont have a problem with skyrim or with this game and i wish i knew why that was. i dont say i like them in that game when they pop out, and i hate when ambushed by them, and i do feel fear but it is distant. so all i am really able to say is, i understand... and sympathise.

Hi, I second this request wholeheartedly.

Unfortunately, I am suffering from a severe case or arachnophobia and as it stands, I really can't proceed any further on the last two remaining planets as both of them are infested with spiders :sad: If it was just a few on one level or a boss, maybe I could ask a friend to do it for me, but now I'd basically have to ask them to finish these two planets for me, which kind of beats the point :sad:

I don't know what the developers were thinking, how having giant spiders jumping at you would in any way be considered fun. I'm scared to death, they are so terrifying. This isn't even some random and rare affliction, a significant number of people I know are afraid of spiders and most of my friends feel at least uncomfortable. A friend of mine who killed the albino spider boss, although he isn't nearly as afraid as me, told me he was thoroughly creeped out and revulsed by the whole sequence.

So, as it stands, I'm pretty much stuck, because I'm too afraid to go on. I read some guides on how to avoid them and finished the first part of Kashyyyk, but now I'm back and I was told that the Shadowlands is full of jump-scare spiders. I can't go through that again please, when it happened to me with albino spider, I screamed so hard that I dropped my keyboard. My boyfriend had to hug me while I was crying on his shoulder, so yeah, I'm afraid to put it mildly.

It is truly a shame because I've been loving this game so far with the exploration and thoughtful combat aspect. Hands down the best Star Wars game I've ever played. I'd be forever grateful for any help in this regard. Just have an option please to replace them by a random collection of pixels or whatever or even a big floating red sign saying "wyyschokk here".

Anything, but not spiders please. They are completely ruining this fantastic Star Wars game for me :-(

@CommanderKeeva Or just a plain white cube about the size of the spider, so that we know the approximate size. You can keep the webbing animation and it can turn red, when it charges, just replace the actual spider with some texture, please. Just a suggestion, but I hope you'll consider it.

what we need really is an arachnophobe mode in settings. yes its a minor spoiler, but so many have the phobia its not a rare thing and there are almost certainly creatures the developers didnt add to the worlds either because of time constraints or planned dlc or whatever. im sure there will be some cool creature they have on hold or no longer planned to be used at all, that they could simply add in a patch with that setting and would swap out to some kind of 'big cat type' predator or maybe a giant evil ewok, or something else, than a creepy crawlie. and it wont affect people without a problem, who probably wouldnt even notice the setting, or if the do, might think it adds replay value.
