I'm still in contact with several of my guild from SWG, a few of whom I know are going to be playing this as well.
While I have very fond memories of that game, it is very much a situation of looking back through rose colored glassed. I've tried SWGEMU and it's......there. That's about as nice as I can put it.
Man, I played that game through its entire lifetime. I put a lot of time into that game when it was live. The emulators just don't hold a candle. All the friendships and enemies I made, the ship component farm, Restuss, Exar Kun, Jedi Hunting, Jedi Grinding. The game was too smart for it's time. Sony Online Entertainment drove that game into the ground. Should have just let the creative director do their thing.
Old Starsider Vet here. Tristian Blackstone was the character's name. KSE Firespray was my final ship of choice. Took forever to get the blueprint pieces for that and the Mando armor.

I've been playing SWG from launch until sunset and beyond. It's the best Star Wars MMORPG ever made. 🙂
The Jump to Lightspeed/Space portion still holds up pretty well to this day (at least until Squadrons comes out, which may just blow it away!).
I briefly beta tested Star Wars Galaxies back in the day, but I never played the game post release. Currently, I'm into the SWG Legends server. Speaking of SWG as well as SWTOR, it would have been great if you could customize your pilots and ships in Squadrons just as easily. I'm really not happy with the arbitrary limitations they have in place.
