@MKh501The bomber has basically no other option than a head on once he gets attacked. He can not outmaneuver an a-wing, the only thing he can do is boost away, do a 180 drift, and head on his attacker. Using a weapon with half DPS is a suicide here.
The only way autoaim rotary gives any advantage is if the bomber is left alone and fires from range at a target that's already busy fighting someone else. And then only if the player is a newbie with bad aim.
I have tried the autoaim rotary before and dropped it like a hot potato, because i simply could not do enough damage in the short time window you usually have against a competent pilot. Full-DPS rotary on the other hand often kills an a-wing before he even realizes he's taking damage.

- 5 years ago@MKh501 I think it has its place in the game, as a stepping stone for new players before they get skilled/confident enough to aim without it. After that, it becomes a liability.

I use a pc with full HOTAS and I don’t see any problem; but I’ve turned all assists and hud info off before my first flight.
im more confused how matchmaking is fair if one side use all the assists and the other side doesn’t. That shouldn’t be matched in my opinion.

The game is a shell with no support that's the problem. I wish there was a hardcore mode with no in flight assists turned on and no auto aim weapons that would be amazing and realistic but the devs wont support the game or make new content, as they keep saying this is all we get. i can't believe we don't even have a NON ranked fleet battles so we can pick our faction like in dog fight.

Not a great game mechanic these gimballed weapons, really takes the skill out of this.

I switched over to fixed weapons now and the game is soo much more fun and rewarding, getting that high dps hits feels good and when you have a tough dogfight and manage to kill him after chasing for a min its good. auto weapons are just crap and should be gone or do even less dps.
- 5 years ago@court_jester77x That's the whole issue in a nutshell. Bringing a bomber class to a classic dogfight should be treated like bringing a knife to a gunfight- inevitable loss.
Bombers should be exclusively viable in fleet battles where there are crucial in taking down onjectives yet depend on their fighters and interceptors to stay alive. Nothing wrong with some self-defense, but trying to make bombers competitive in a pure dogfight setting is just blatantly stupid. Doing so by adding auto-aim weapons is even more /facepalm worthy.
