Black screen starting up (PC) **Possible fix**

Hi All;

I know that my video card does not meet the minimum. Would that keep the game from even starting? I have a 560M in an Asus laptop. Have people been able to get the game going on a machine with less than minimum specs? It did begin once and I was going to go to Hoth and do the tutorial and it just hung on the loading screen. Please see dxdiag below...

TIA!

    I'd like to provide an update in that it may help some people. I was able to get the game working. I performed the following

    • Uninstall Battlefront
    • Uninstall Origin
    • Uninstall the MS C++ redistributable (both x86 and 64 bit)
    • Reboot
    • Ran CCLean to clean the registry
    • Install just the x86 (32 bit) version of the MS C++ (12.0.30501)
    • Reboot
    • Install Origin
    • Install Battlefront

    It's still downloading, but I was able to walk around as Darth Vader. Never got that far before!

    Hi Gorath ;

    Thanks for the info. I'll def keep everyone posted on how it progresses. I don't expect spectacular framerates and I understand a busy map may be problematic. Anywho, it's still loading. Was able to grease many rebels as Darth and it was definitely playable.

    Okay, the game runs. Played it for about 20 minutes. No probs. Got shot a lot! I guess bottom line is I'd anyone is having a black screen, try the C++ redistribute package like mentioned above. No guarantees!
