Playing on Xbox One. Same issue but found that if I went past the box into the shadow on the right and carefully approached the box from the shadowy corner side and tapped RS or R3 for PS users I activated the open moment. I now have 08 stims from 07. This different angle approach worked on a previous glitched box as well.
