So what was the solution? The link is dead.
- @Nosferat83 They're basically one and the same - the link used to lead to instructions how to set up ReShade, sadly I don't have ReShade anymore since I switched to Win10 and the link doesn't work. However, I can say at least that ReShade worked for me like a charm.
...Shame about the K+M controls though, those made me hate the game. - @Pole_named_Paul What worked for you ? The ReShade(#8) or #9 - which i can't see ?
I am getting a message telling me I need to log in or have permission to view the page. Since I am logged in, I know it is not that problem. Just to be clear, I too am running Win 7 on PC and can't get the game to run and now I can't even view the fix!
- @inkwolf77 This worked perfectly, thank you!
Looks like credit for this fix should go to Id_Hug_You, who appears to have posted this originally!

I'm also running Windows 7 and encountered this error, but I was able to get the game working by installing ReShade.
I found it through the following page:
https://steamah.com/star-wars-squadrons-how-to-play-on-windows-7/
Just be careful when attempting to download the ReShade installer. I almost clicked on a "WebNavigator" download.
Like the page mentions, I just used the default options when installing for Squadrons. And when get game starts up, use the "Home" key to hide the ReShade bar.
Good luck.
Seriously EA.
I wouldn't have bought this game if I saw the requirements was Windows 10. My computer works flawlessly on Win 7 and I'm still about 1 year away from finally migrating to Windows 10. I am not about to risk my PC and all it's stuff just to play this game even though the actual game looks great.
Can someone please get a hotfix for Windows 7 users. There are a lot of Windows 7 users on Steam. Its still the 2nd most popular Windows. This has left a bad taste in my mouth. I was waiting for this all week and now this!!!
- @Pole_named_Paul Yea man this is extremely annoying. I was waiting all week for this and now I get this stupid msg. Apparently they recently updated their system requirements to Windows 10. I think there are workaround for this for other games but I've tried them and I couldnt get it to work:

Keep me posted and see if you can find a workaround and Ill do the same. - @lolly1003 Thanks for the answer, sadly that didn't fix the issue.
