Same issue. I was thinking I was doing something wrong for a while but I was noticing some laser blasts coming from places that did not have any laser batteries and I was trying to kill it for about an hour and a half, being frustrated. I went through trying to destroy the blue lighting areas, all laser batteries, engines. Had all the power gen, targeting system, bubble thing on the bottom (can't remember the name at the moment) and the shield destroyed an hour before I just gave up.
I'm on PC, downloaded from steam, latest update was 10/3 at 12😛m mountain time. (Not sure how to find update number)
