Cant invite friends to play Squadrons

Cant invite friends to play, It just says "invite could not be sent". Anyone else getting this? Tried with cross play on and off (we are both on pc, he on steam me on origin).

  • It is not working for me either.  I'm on PC (Steam) and friend is on PS4.  Neither of us can invite the other.  Confirmed crossplay is enabled on both machines.  I have 2 other friends with Steam and I can play with both of them just fine, but Crossplay between PC and PS4 does not seem to be working.

  • I've tried inviting my frined on Steam to a match, I'm on Origin. This sucks. Please fix this....

Mine was solved when I turned crossplay on, since my hubby and son both had theirs turned on. But even Looking for a solo match, I couldn't get one with cross play turned off.

@EA_Atic I have had spotty ability to add friends from my squadrons in-game. Since 3.0, I have not been able to successfully add friends from any platform in-game. This reduces my ability to keep a squadron together and play with friends. May I suggest a "recent players" list of the squadron from the previous match? Also, since the matchmaking change today, I have had all my friend requests in-game result in a failed invite message. Do you have any insight herein? Thank you so much.

Though I was unable to add EA account names and getting an "Invite Failed" message, Steam account names that I added would show up in-game after a restart. However, I could not invite a Steam player from inside the game. After I had restarted and he showed up on my list inside Squadrons, I sent a team invite and received this error ID:

This was someone on Steam whose account I'd added via Steam. The only way to get our team of three together in a squad was to cancel the lobby with my Xbox squadmate, whom I'd added through Origin, and accept an out-of-game Steam invite to join the game of my Steam friend (I was luckily on Steam as well so we had the platform in common if nothing else) and then with him as group leader I was able to invite the Xbox squadmate in-game. It was difficult to maneuver these obstacles, but we did make it with a haphazard, out-of-game approach. I'd just request that there be some way to get friends who know their IDs to be in the same lobby regardless of who is doing the invite and from what platform. If I weren't facilitating via Steam, my teammates could never have played with each other even though we already knew each other. Thanks for keeping an eye on this.

Me and my friend just got it and immediately started having issues with the multiplayer mode. We have wanted to play this game for a long time and once we got it we were so disappointed that we could not play together. EA, if you see this, please fix this issue, it would mean a lot.
