This needs to get fixed indeed. Guys, check in CONTROLS, scroll all the way to the bottom. There you can choose between 3 devices. Pedals are usually not in there. I found that devices that lack buttons are not in there... is that a coincidence? I have pedals as well.
Workaround so you stay sane:
Install Joystick Gremlin + VJOY. Install VJOY1 device using VJOY, start Gremlin, select pedals, add "REMAP to VJOY X-Axis" to the axis of your pedals. Save and activate profile in Gremlin. Start game, select VJOY in game options' CONTROLS. Then map pedal axis. Enjoy the game.
