Connection to EA Online timed out [Steam PC]
Hi,
I have recently purchased Battlefield V via Steam. I was planning on playing it together with my friend, however, we have problems with joining multiplayer servers. When we try to join while in squad, we get an error:
"GAME DISCONNECTED
Connection to EA Online timed out. Your network bandwidth and/or network latency may not meet the requirements for this game"
We have tried several solutions and instructions found on the Internet with no success. Things we have tried
1. Checking the server status
All services are available and it the problem was happening on several different occasions.
2. Restart router, PC and game
We have tried restarting all possible things several times, none helped.
3. Try different DNS
We have switched to Google DNS (8.8.8.8) on both machines and it did not help.
4. Try VPN
We have both tried using VPN, however it made the situation ever worse as the game did not register as online at all.
5. Updating the game and the app
Both are on the latest version.
6. Running the game a administrator.
Did not solve the problem.
7. Disabling firewall
Things I believe are important:
1. The two of us, could play together Combined Arms without any problems. The error occurs when trying to connect to larger multiplayer modes.
2. The speedtest of the connection show stable 100 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload speeds, with 10 ms ping (in-game overlay shows 33)
3. I am using WiFi connection. The router is in a place where it cannot be connected via wire. The results from speedtest are consistent though.
4. I cannot change ISP (solution I saw while looking online). It is the only IPS with fibre optic connection in my area.
5. Sometimes when I was a leader of the squad, I could join a game, but the second person in the group was getting the mnetioned error. Other times I could not join even alone.
I really wish to play the game, as at this point we have spend so much time troubleshooting that we cannot get a refund and are stuck with a game that does not work.
Please, help us find a solution to this problem. Thanks in advance.
