10 years agoCPU Temperatures
Back when the beta came out, on my pc (Mini-Itx build with stock fans and stock CPU cooler) i remember the game running around at high 60 to mid 70 C's (CPU) when playing on Hoth. My questions are: ...
CPU temps are dependent on your hardware for the most part. But, intensive graphical games like SWBF will contribute to excessive hot air in your box from your graphics hardware. It's important to keep a constant airflow (doesn't need to be a lot) across the motherboard so once the heat leaves the circutry, it's on its way out of the box. Liquid Cooled devices for CPUs are fairly inexpensive these days and run a lot quieter for the amount of heat they pull off the processor. (Be sure your box can fit a CPU cooler cause it requires a fan(s) mounted to an opening on your box.) Anyways, 60-70 Celsius on a CPU is ok in my opinion. (without proper airflow in the box, it will over-heat the system as hot air can not cool like room temp. air will) 60-70 C is where I run my AMD Quad-core A10. It's like running a car engine; once it warms up, she hums just great. gl
