Crashes to desktop as battle starts since update

Please explain 'Other' Any time i would enter a battle or practice.
What were you doing when the bug occurred? Step by Step detail is helpful. Tried quick match 3 times. Got into a team, team launched for battle, splash screen appears whilst match loads and then crash to desktop. Tried to run a practice battle, same thing.
Where did this issue occur? Please include menu name or in game location. Anytime the game tries to open a map. Sitting in the cockpit for customisation seems to be fine.

What happens when the bug occurs? evrything just closes and i'm back to the desktop. No error message or anything

Which customizations (if any) were you using? paint skins for starfighters, the neon blue one. Nothing for imperials
The game has worked fine for weeks, i'm only having this issue since the update. I also upgraded to a 4k tv but i doubt this has anything to do with the pc error.
