fix in patch that just went live. if somehow the rocks are stil there, they should not damage you 🙂
I set the difficulty to story like @nagyfecske recommended and it worked for me! You have to change it to story, climb up to the rocks and run into them. They won't kill you. Click the climb button again. Heal yourself. Climb more, then do it again till you get to the top. The monster spawned for me at the top!

the rocks kill me instantly regardless of what skill mode I'm on
Also, I think a few times I tried on Story I was dying immediately. This video was my third attempt. I don't know if the damage done is random, but I did notice my difficulty setting was back to Jedi Master when I respawned. Make absolutely sure you're on Story! No jumping, just climbing. It took me a couple of tries since hitting the rocks would make me fall, but I just went a bit to the right through it and kept catching myself. Here's a link to the gameplay.
