its a small issue quality of life thing that would improve the game. the bodies dont need to disappear until you leave the area. i do get annoyed sometimes when i just go to scan a body and it vanishes too soon. this shouldnt be too hard to implement and it would add to the atmosphere and immersion - it brings up memories of vader stepping over bodies when entering princess leia's consular ship at the start of the very first movie. i dont mean the prequels but the original star wars, which is now renamed episode iv.
should be easy and quick to add to any patch, really.

Much as I'd like to see it, easy to implement it might not be. FO already has issues streaming assets quickly enough on consoles, even the upgraded ones. I get stutters and pop-in every now and then on a PS4 pro SSD. The Digital Foundry analysis shoes it very clearly.
So having those enemy corpses remain takes computing power and memory. They're not just stones, they have ragdoll physics, they interact with you and can be interacted with (even if it's just moving them by jumping or running into them). Their AI behavior protocols, like movement and combat etc., are turned off, but apart from that, they're still there and need to be accounted for.
Depending on how much computing power that would require, some areas with many enemies could create problems. If you've played on console, you will probably be familiar with the FPS stutter when you're entering a new area of the map. If the goal was to have all the corpses remain until you leave the area, in the worst case scenario, that might mean redefining the bounds of those areas. If you need 20% more resources to keep all the corpses until.the player leaves the area, you have to take it from somewhere else. And that would result in having to redo the area streaming setup that makes sure new areas are loaded in before you get there to experience a seamless world.
If FO really is pushing this console generation as hard as it seems, this might be a house of cards thing: it just a out works and is holding up, but if you change something around, that precarious balance might be lost.
I hope they can find a way to do it. But I don't think it will be "easy".

oops i forgot im on pc and this is on console also. the devs could easily do it on pc, but they wont want multiple code versions hanging around because they dont want multiple teams managing it with other games in the works probably. i also forgot they arent just stationary but move with explosions and such.

Interesting that when you defeat the AT (the ostrich like thing) in Zeffo the wreck stays there if you explore and come back, and even if you go to another planet and return. Anyone notice? Do "dead" mechanical enemies remain in place in general.
