This problem was reported 7 months ago, and I haven't seen any admin mention anything in the forum. This bug may never get fixed. I would start over, but the fact that this glitch could easily happen again to me has deterred me from doing soon. Since there's only a single save file, there's nothing that can be done to avoid the issue.
