While getting stuck is certainly an issue that definitely inhibits a joyful experience, I'm unsure whether or not I would personally enjoy the implementation of a fast travel system.
Whenever fast travel is at my disposal, I end up using it against my own will, zip-zapping to different locations with flying ease - perhaps this should only be an option on easier difficulties?

A manual 'respawn' should be relatively easy to implement. The game already 'knows' the spots that are in safe distance to any obstacles, walls, etc and could just spawn you there if you get stuck.
Of course, you shouldn't get stuck in the first place. I had some technical issues, but never got stuck in my currently 45hrs.
Fast travel would totally ruin the immersion IMHO. The journey is the reward. You need to overcome all obstacles in order to become a Jedi. No matter how long it takes.
Other than that, ppl will always find a way to complain.
No fast travel = this takes too long
Fast travel = game is too short
