game serial code starwars Battlefront

Hi

I was given an orignal copy of the pc version of the new Starwars Battle front by a work colleague as he had bought this for his son's laptop, but on trying to install the game, he found out that his laptop couldn't run the game. Now when I try to install the game on my pc, It wont let me because the serial number has already been used. Is there anyway I can install it on my pc? What proof do I need to prove that I have an original copy?
