I was hit by this bug.
After watching some playthrough videos I realised if you got some dialogue from your wingmates after Gunny orders you to follow her then you've avoided this bug. If not, then you're going to get the bug.
So I kept restarting from the checkpoint, or the entire mission, until I got that dialogue.
Must've been 10-20 times since my first try before it happened over a few days, and after the missing dialogue occurred the mission started properly.
