I really enjoy the game, but will say that in it's current state it's also a bit frustrating.
Depending on the Difficulty you choose, it's either a Dark Souls like experience (actually more Sekiro than the other Souls games, albeit with an unfortunately less refined and less responsive combat system) on the hardest difficulty or a rather easy Star Wars action adventure, think: the new Tomb Raider games or Uncharted, but with a light saber.
It feels great, the story is fine (albeit a matter of taste), the level design superb, exploration is very engaging.
There are some very strange issues (possibly design choices), though, some very bad AI issues (where enemies consistently will not follow out of an area or even through an open door, stand right in front of you, not a meter away, and then go "I've lost sight of the enemy," then turn and walk away), and the graphics range from jaw droppingly gorgeous to "Uh... What? Seriously?"-bad. There are movement issues, weird level restrictions, some cheap enemy tactics, and rare instances of very questionable gameplay mechanics.
The main thing that frustrates me is the inconsistency.
As mentioned, the exploration is great, the "rewards" for it, though, I find rather lacking (70% of the secret collectibles are cosmetic options for your lightsaber, none of which you really see in the game except for the blade's color, and you don't even get a little XP for finding those).
Sometimes enemies can jump, sometimes they're stuck in front of a 50 centimeter gap. Sometimes they drop 10 meters off a cliff down to another accessible area and lose a bit of health, sometimes they drop 2 meters and die.
And the list goes on.
In closing, it's a great adventure game that should've been postponed for another six or eight months of polishing to make it truly amazing.
But yes, I'm finicky about what other people might call little things. And I am enjoying it quite a lot, playing on the hardest difficulty.
If your brother likes Star Wars and 3rd person action games, whether Soulslikes or more casual fare, where your hero is not an invincible killing machine with recharging health, and won't mind spending as much time fighting as climbing and exploring, this will do fine, I think.
But if he hates games like the new Tomb Raiders or Uncharted, then this might not be the thing, despite it being a Star Wars game.
