hopping planet not possible because game not fully installed

but it is fully instaled ☹️

HELP!!!!

  • @cmvondoom

I thought my game was fully installed because it had been 2 weeks since I downloaded and there was no progress bar, but Origin paused the download behind the scenes for some reason.

    Follow these steps.
    1. Close all Launchers(Steam, Epic, Origin)
    2. Open windows explorer
    3. Find origin application in 'Program files x86'
    4. Open Origin
    5. See if the game is actually fully installed.

When I did this I saw the game was only 86% and then it resumed the download.

    Good luck!

So I just had this problem.  I started playing while the game was not done downloading.  The download continued while I was playing, and then I had to quit to finish it.  When I tried to continue my game it still said the download needed to complete.  I got it to work with a mix of everything everyone did aside from re-install.  The steps I took and it worked were:

    Restarted the computer.

    Updated the game.

    Repaired the game.

Loaded from the save file instead of hitting continue.

Now I could hop to the next planet.  I also noted that after I saved it, I was able to load in via Continue and still able to hop.  My only guess is that the continue does not check the download state and just loads the last known state, which may have been before the download completed.  /shrug

If you are on PC, close all launching applications, Steam, epic, origin. Go into program filesx86 and find the origin application. I opened it from there with everything else closed and it said the download was only 86% complete even though it showed complete in the epic store and on steam. When I opened origin the download resumed and 5 minutes later the game was playable again. Definitely a glitch they need to work out with Origin.

Hope it works for everyone else as well!
