I was able to fix it by disconnecting my throttle and binding it to my stick. After that I reconnected it and everything works perfectly.

  • Not sure if this will work for everyone,  but I found that I have to run the configuration program that comes with the x56 and ensue that all 3 axis are detected. While leaving that program open, open Star Wars: Squadrons. You should now be able to map all controls.

As long as the configuration program is run before starting SWS each time, then everything works just fine.

  • you realize the last driver put out for the x-56 was in 2018 right?  I'm having the same issue.

  • I have the same flight controllers. The game doesn't even recognize them . Any advice?

  • 2020.10.30 Has there been any progress towards getting control customization fixed??? I'm a lil sour that they promised full control customization, and I pre-ordered 3 copies of this game thinking that was gonna be the case, but it isn't what we got...

I have HOTAS [Logitech X56 Stick and Throttle] and Flight Pedals [Logitech Pro Flight Rudder Pedals], as well as several driving devices (Driving Wheel [Logitech G29], Stand-alone Driving Pedals [Thrustmaster T-LCM], and Stick Shift [Thrustmaster TH8A), but apparently, I can only assign 4 controllers as available devices. I have 6, so as a result, I am unable to choose which devices are listed under the 4 device limit. I am unable to assign my HOTAS throttle as an available device in Squadrons, since the driving devices are occupying 2 out of 4 of the available device slots! (Currently, only my Logitech X56 HOTAS Stick and Logitech Pro Flight Rudder Pedals are assignable, cuz it lists the Sim Pedals [T-LCM Driving Pedals] and Logitech G29 Wheel as the other 2 devices, excluding my HOTAS Throttle, which had been previously setup before I added the Sim Pedals [T-LCM Driving Pedals].)

As far as I can tell, it wont let me change the devices it "sees", even within the options to assign controllers to slots 1-4. It only "sees" the controllers it "wants to" and doesn't let me choose beyond the 4 devices it picks up, even if there are more available in Windows Game Controller Settings.

Are all of us with more than 1 controller too cool to play this game???? Cuz that's the feels I'm getting from this thread.... I have all the things needed to play, but the game wont play with all my things!!! I'm frustrated that I bought 3 copies of the game for the entire family, and none of us can use this crappy game cuz it won't let us assign any of our controls the way we want...

FIX UR CRAP!!! It's been a month already, and none of us can play... we expired our refund policy hoping that you would fix this, but it hasn't happened yet. If it just doesn't ever happen, I'll be so sour on EA Star Wars FOREVER, and never buy another crappy EA title, EVER!!!!

P.S. I would attach screenshots, but apparently EA's crappy support site won't accept 4k screenshots, cuz they show how this game is broken in too much detail... What a load of broken crap!!! I'm never buying another crappy EA game, EVER!!! They rushed it out of studio before it was done and they aren't fixing the game-breaking bugs that keep the game from being playable.

I'm sorry Motive, but your great game was crippled by a dysfunctional publisher who rushed you to release, and then didn't give enough incentive to fix it afterwards. Congratulations on selling 3 copies of a broken game that shouldn't have ever been released to the public with so many bugs... Screw you, EA, for breaking something that could have been really great. Consider me a lost customer for LIFE!!! [Mic Drop... Blown PA speakers, NO fawks given!!!]

I'm sure this was TLDR for everyone at EA, cuz none of them care... They still sold 3 more copies of a broken game, so why would they??? Don't expect anymore money from me, EVER!!!

  • @Mcavity5 using the x.52 HOTAS I had to manualy edit the "ProfileOptions_profile_synced" file.
    GstKeyBinding.IncomStarshipInputConcepts.ConceptRoll.4.altbutton 0
    GstKeyBinding.IncomStarshipInputConcepts.ConceptRoll.4.axis 26
    GstKeyBinding.IncomStarshipInputConcepts.ConceptRoll.4.button 46

    and
    GstKeyBinding.IncomStarshipInputConcepts.ConceptRoll.5.axis 26
    GstKeyBinding.IncomStarshipInputConcepts.ConceptRoll.5.button 47

I also had to set the deadzone for roll to 97% !
however after doing this it worked and am now able to roll and yaw.
