Practice mode in Squadrons issue

I just picked this up on steam last night, played a bit with story mode, and seemed to work fine. Tried to do practice mode today, and I get through the hanger stuff, hit B, and I get this the attached screen. I can't seem to select anything and the little box in the bottom right corner just does it's thing. I verified the installed files are good, I have no idea what else I can do. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
