@Reposter my opinion is that Imperials are stronger, especially when sieging flagships in fleet battle.
Tie Interceptor's lasers are definitely ok, especially since you can replenish them with energy from the engines and keep them at full power.
The only downside of Imperial ships is their cockpit which offers little visibility, otherwise they're superior in all aspects.
