How to change chat buttons

I play Battlefront with the mouse in my left hand, so my movement buttons are mapped to I, J, K, and L. Found that for some reasons the buttons to enable chat are mapped to some of these keys, particularly I is for partner chat, so I basically can't move forward without opening this.

I have mapped the chat buttons to other keys, but the chat still opens. Is there a way to unstick these keys? Thanks

  • Hi @dfrobb

First thing to do ,go in Origin / Application Settings / Voice Chat /  Capture Mode- check Push-to-Talk

And in Push-to-Talk Keyboard Shorcut , type the key you want.😉

Now start your game Star Wars:Battlefront , go in Game Settings and type the same key.

    I wait your feedback, mate.🙂

@dfrobb As it is, unfortunately some of the chat functions are hard-bound and despite what the menu says they can't be rebound at this time.

At this time there's no standard workaround other than using WASD or another combination, sorry.

How can your keyboard mapping feature be broken now?  I was using IJKL as a lefty when the game first came out and now the I key is stuck to partner chat!  This is disappointing.  A new SW movie is almost out and people will be wanting to play this expensive game again, including lefty's.
