How to disable HDR in Squadrons (PC)?

After purchasing Squadrons a few weeks after release, I noticed HDR could be turned on or off in settings. I have an HDR compatible monitor but its not the best, so I don't always want HDR enabled. ...

If you're on the PC, go to Documents\STAR WARS Squadrons\settings\, open ProfileOptions_profile with a text editor, and set GstRender.HdrEnable 0. You can (or maybe should) also add this flag to the BootOptions file to be sure it's set on every game start.

Naturally, setting this flag to 1 will enable HDR again.

Note that the folder above is the one for Origin/EA Play, it can have a slightly different name if you're using the Steam or Epic Games Store version.

If the above doesn't work and you don't want HDR at all for whatever reason, you could download Custom Resolution Utility (CRU) and remove the HDR Information from your Monitor's EDID (don't worry, it isn't permanent). That way HDR should be disabled for good in Windows and Squadrons as well. This would be a last-ditch workaround, however.
