HUD Guide

First I want to clarify because it appears a lot of people are conflating the cockpit instruments and the HUD.  I am not talking about the cockpit instruments that are a part of the physical ship, but the HUD.  The icons that overlay the game flow.

Is there any guide anywhere that shows what each image means.  One example that I have been trying to figure out is a white eye with a line through it, but there are many others I would like to know the answer to as well.  I miss the old days when a game manufacturer included a basic manual with such core information, but it appears we are meant to intuit what the designer had in mind for these things.  I am very open to being corrected though if someone can point me to such a manual.

  • Not sure if there is a guide for all the various HUD stuff.

    I can tell you that the Eye Symbol with a Slash through it means that you are currently undetectable on enemy radar.  Either you are outside of all enemy ships range, or you have the Sensor Jammers currently working which means you can not be selected as a target when enemies are cycling through available targets.

    (The Reflec Hull makes it so that if you are 1500m outside of any enemies range you will see this as well.  Your opponents will have to actually notice you visually.)

  • @timedmarrow I made this exact thread just after launch. EA never responded. It’s not like the iconography is common or blatantly obvious; the least they could have done was an in-game manual.
  • @timedmarrow I dont Use the hud overlay. I would if they made overlays more personalized to each character helmet visor view. like useing drop-in bombing scopes like lukes xwing from a new hope when he bombed the deathstar with torpedos. Im talking about hud as in heads up display that you would find in a helmet or viewing visor. SO, I cant really comment on that systems definitions and I found this which may get you near any info there is. https://www.ea.com/games/starwars/squadrons/overview/components

    Thanks, I saw this one, but unfortunately this is exactly what I meant about conflating the cockpit controls with the HUD.  The only thing he didn't discuss in his HUD video was the HUD.
