In water at start of Nur, game killing bug

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Not sure how to repeat it -- it didn't happen the first playthrough. But now, I cannot advance at all.
What happens when the bug occurs? You're stuck swimming around in that little coral pit near the submerged lifepod.
What do you expect to see? Normally, you can swim right up.

Replaying the game after successfully completing it. After the opening cut scene on Nur, when initially emerging from the life pod underwater, I am unable to swim up to the surface. It's like a transparent ceiling prevents upward movement.

I seem to be permanently stuck.
