How to do.
Squadrons on Windows 7.
Download ReShade: https://reshade.me/
Run it and choose Star Wars Squadrons from the list of games it shows you.
It will ask you what post processing effects you want. I just chose the default settings. Normaly the center one. Direct 10/11/12 an click apply on the next screen.
Once done, run the game.
If you want to get rid of the ReShade bar at the top, hit the “HOME” key and click “Skip Tutorial.” Then hit the “ESC” key and it should fade from the screen.
Just bought it but it won't even let me download it on Origin, saying I have to upgrade.
So I can't reach the point to use ReShade as I planned
What now?

Did you buy your copy of the game, or get it via something like EA-Play or something like that.- chrp905 years agoNew Rookie
I bought an Origin key (should probably have gone for Steam lol)
Now it wouldn't let me download it so I downloaded it on my laptop which fortunately runs Win10 and moved all the files/reg per USB.
I can launch it now per .exe but again Origin steps in and says I need to download an urgent Update (???) to launch it.
However of course, Origin won't download that "Update with the same error message (not using Win10 blabla)
But what kinda Update is it talking about haha?, since there is no Update so there can't be anything missing really :o

I deleted some Origin Cache
relogged into Origin, pressed some buttons
and now
It works haha
that weird Update available disappeared after I launched one of the .exe and now it works even launching through Origin!
(I did the Reshade fix already earlier)
Excuse me now, I need to shoot some starships :P
