Jedi: Fallen Order - Game won't launch anymore

Hello there folks,

so i've been playing this game (on Steam) for the last 2 days with no issues. I launched it again tonight, and it just wouldn't...
Here's how it goes, in detail:

-I press Play and the game in the library turns green (Running)
-A small portrait EA window shows up for a few seconds and then disappears
-Game goes back to white (so not running anymore?)
-The same EA window as before shows up again, and the game goes back to green
-The window disappears and the game goes back to white
-A large landscape EA window appears for a few seconds, and then disappears.

And that's it... nothing after that.

Here's what i've tried so far:
-Uninstalled EA App
-Started the game which prompted me to re-install EA (which i did, but didn't fix it)
-Re-installed the game
-Restarted Steam
-Restarted the PC

I was playing fine, closed the game, started another game for an hour or so, and then this wouldn't launch anymore.
Any ideas?

    Hi Everyone, 

    I wanted to check if anyone is still running into this issue.

    If so, would it be possible to submit an EA App Error Report and grab the Report ID?

  • I have Fallen Order through Steam. I keep getting the error that the game can't launch. I have attached a screenshot. I have tried all the solutions offered in Answers HQ with no luck. Here is my Error Report ID:

    Hello, I found a fix that worked for myself! First, backup your game files through Steam by right clicking the game --> local files --> backup game files. Then disable steam cloud and delete the game and erase all game data and save folders as shown in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UP01HAfd4ro. Then move on to reinstalling the game and restore your game files as needed after launching and making sure it works.

    I tried to reinstall the game multiple times before but never thought of disabling steam cloud. And that fortunately did the trick for me. Hope this helps!

  • I am having the same issue, I was able to play for just under 13hrs on release, but haven't been able to launch since the Origin switch. Purchased through Steam, tried all of the prior trouble shooting in order in the beginning of the thread. My report ID is:

  • Hey all, as you dig through your files, keep an eye open for "SwGame-Win64-Shipping.exe"  this will launch Jedi Fallen Order without telling Steam or the EA app it is doing so.  If you have the game installed through steam in is in (Steam > steamapps > common > Jedi Fallen Order > SwGame> Binaries > Win64 ) You can play anything you want with save files intact.  However, you won't log any game time or earn any achievements in Steam.
