Jedi Fallen Order Deluxe Edition Download issue

I recently bought the Jedi Fallen order game on a CD for Xbox one. I wanted to try the deluxe edition so I bought a redeem code through amazon. After I put the code into Xbox Microsoft store I installed the deluxe upgrade. After it was done installing I opened the game and loaded my “journey” I went into the customization tab and all the customizations were still locked. After that I took the CD out, restarted the Xbox, I even uninstalled the upgrade and reinstalled it. It still isn’t working. I’m at a loss, how do I access the customizations and everything from the deluxe edition after I have installed it?
