I purchased the game through steam 2 days ago and it simply doesn't launch. When launching it just opens the EA app and I get a pop-up saying "Your game failed to launch, An error on our end caused your launch to fail. Try again a little later"
Yes I've looked through similar threads and done everything people suggest, such as verifying the integrity of my games files, the EA app, reinstalling, windows updates, and driver updates but nothing helps. And no I do not want to launch the game via SwGame-Win64-Shipping.exe because it doesn't track steam hours or achievements which is why I bought it in the first place. I've played the game before through the EA app.
Would appreciate if the "solution" wouldn't be a copy-and-paste comment that doesn't actually help.
Hi, @papahiroshima @JIRV09 When you have a moment can you try the following steps if you have not so far?
- Check for other applications that may be limiting EA App or Game performance
- EA App's Cache (Top Left Menu > Help > App Recovery)
- Run the System File Checker tool then Check for Windows and GPU updates
- Install/Repair your VC++ files for Jedi: Fallen Order
- Put your device in a Clean Boot then launch Fallen Order

Nope tried all that and still doesn't launch.

Same here
NFS games work fine, Fallen Order wont even show up on installed games

yes It gave me the same error message

If you play Jedi order through steam simply goto this location in the steam local files "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Jedi Fallen Order\SwGame\Binaries\Win64" and double click the exe called "SwFame-Win64-Shipping.exe" it will allow you to play the game but you wont log either time or achievements in steam.

I used the other executable <drive>\Steam\steamapps\common\Jedi Fallen Order\SwGame\Binaries\Win64\starwarsjedifallenorder.exe which launched the EA app. After logging in it launched the game. Closing the game and then starting from steam now works again, including steam achievements and saves etc.

Hi any danger of actually coming with an actual fix for this? or will you refund the game?
- 3 years ago@Hiltonig dont hold your breath counting on a fix or refund. they have known about this issue for almost two years now.
- 3 years ago@Hiltonig Yeah, this is ridiculous. I'm having the same issue ever since they moved everyone from Origins to the EA App. I feel scammed paying for a product I can't use.
