I'm using a Saitek X52 and THIS was the biggest problem I had when I booted up the game for the first time.
It was like trying to drive a car without power steering. Thanks to the built-in deadzone, I kept having to use larger, more exaggerated motions on the stick to move, which made any kind of precision impossible. I got so frustrated, I didn't even finish the first mission. It simply was not enjoyable.
So, yeah, I haven't touched Squadrons since launch night and I don't plan on doing so again until this is fixed. Patch the game and I'll be right back on in an instant. I want Squadrons to succeed, but this is a really a poor showing for something so fundamental that could be messed up so badly.

@AEdwardian
Word for word my exact experience. I gave the game a negative review as a result, with the stipulation that it would change as soon as the necessary fixes are deployed.
I can't/don't play the game because of the issue and I want to ensure the ability to refund if the appropriate fixes aren't deployed.
It's especially frustrating knowing that this fix shouldn't be too complex, and should be deployed rather early, and with much more transparency.- 5 years agoI nearly bought this (PS4).
Will wait for the bargain bin.- 5 years ago
EA is a joke, I don't buy anymore their games, Squadrons almost changed my mind, I was waiting to see the feedback about HOTAS on this game prior buying it....
Well I am not disapointed 😃
I love how people are able to provide some workaround in 1 day while it can take several month for EA to patch a problem like this.
